San Diego Gulls News Release
SAN DIEGO - The San Diego Gulls announced today that the American Hockey League (AHL) club will host a fan takeover of the team's official Twitter account (@SDGullsAHL) for Fan Appreciation Night this Saturday, Apr. 7 at Valley View Casino Center during their contest vs. the Ontario Reign (7 p.m.). The game will be televised live on FOX 5 San Diego.
In the first-ever "You Tweet, We Repeat" takeover, Gulls fans can tweet game commentary live with the #GullsFanTakeover. Gulls fans will oversee all Twitter content shared during the game with the club to retweet posts and images to the Gulls official Twitter timeline. The team will not post its own content and instead only retweet accounts using the #GullsFanTakeover throughout the game to empower fans to share their experience and commentary of the game.
Whether at Valley View Casino Center or watching the game live on FOX 5 San Diego, fans will have the ability to have select tweets read live during the broadcast by Gulls play-by-play broadcaster Craig Elsten and color analyst B.J. McPherson.
Best practices to have content retweeted or read live on FOX 5 San Diego include posting scores, stats and most importantly fun commentary. Fans are encouraged to tweet their thoughts and comments about the game, share photos of their experiences, use memes, GIFs and plenty of emojis.
