Jets Assign Eric Comrie and Sami Niku to the Manitoba Moose

Winnipeg, MB - The Winnipeg Jets announced today that they have assigned goaltender Eric Comrie and defenceman Sami Niku to the Manitoba Moose.

Comrie, 22, has played in 31 games for the Moose this season and has a 17-11-3 record with two shutouts, a 2.56 goals-against average and a .918 save percentage. The Edmonton, Alberta native has also made three appearance for the Jets this year and has a 1-2-0 record.

Comrie was drafted by the Jets in the second round (59th overall) in the 2013 NHL Draft.

Niku, 21, is in his first season in North America and has played 71 games for the Moose, recording 52 points (15G, 37A) and a plus-18 rating. The native of Haapavesi, Finland made his NHL debut against Montreal on Tuesday and scored a goal on his first shot. Niku is tied for the AHL lead in points by a defenceman (52) and tied for second in goals by a blueliner (15).

Niku was drafted by the Jets in the seventh round (198th overall) in the 2015 NHL Draft.
