Sam Harding Named OHL Academic Player of the Month

The Ontario Hockey League today announced the OHL Academic Players of the Month for November 2014, including defenceman Jakob Chychrun of the Sarnia Sting, sophomore forward Mason Kohn of the Kitchener Rangers, goaltender Stephen Dhillon of the Niagara IceDogs, and centreman Sam Harding of the Oshawa Generals.

Sophomore centreman Sam Harding of the Oshawa Generals is the East Division Academic Player of the Month for November. A grade 12 student at Blyth Academy in Whitby, Harding currently holds an 85% average in a full course load that includes University level Math and Science classes. Sam is characterized as "a very personable and dedicated individual" by his teachers, teammates and coaches. Eligible for the 2015 NHL Draft, the 17 year-old native of Newmarket recorded 14 points in 63 games as a rookie last season and is has five goals and five assists through his first 24 games with the Generals this season.
