
Chychrun Named Academic Player of the Month

The Ontario Hockey League today announced the OHL Academic Players of the Month for November 2014, including defenceman Jakob Chychrun of the Sarnia Sting, sophomore forward Mason Kohn of the Kitchener Rangers, goaltender Stephen Dhillon of the Niagara IceDogs, and centreman Sam Harding of the Oshawa Generals.
West Division: In addition to being the first overall pick in the 2014 OHL Priority Selection and getting off to a strong start in his OHL career, Sarnia Sting rookie Jakob Chychrun is the West Division Academic Player of the Month for November. Currently an eleventh grade student at Northern Collegiate in Sarnia, Chychrun has excelled in his studies with an 82.5% average across four courses including University level Mathematics and Chemistry courses. The 6'2", 194Ib defenceman is a graduate of the Toronto Jr. Canadiens Minor Midget program and has three goals and four assists in 12 games this season.
