
Kohn Named Midwest Division Academic Player of the Year

The Ontario Hockey League today announced the OHL Academic Players of the Month for November 2014, including sophomore forward Mason Kohn of the Kitchener Rangers.
Kohn is the Midwest Division Academic Player of the Month for November. The 17 year-old native of Davie, FL is in his second OHL season and is a grade 12 student at Eastwood Collegiate Institute. Kohn is described by his teachers as "hard working and committed to any and all tasks he is assigned. His persistence and drive to succeed are being rewarded both in the classroom and on the ice."
The 5'10", 188Ib forward has made a smooth transition from the American to Canadian education system and plans to attend Wilfrid Laurier University upon graduation from high school. Kohn has a goal and four assists in 17 games with the Rangers this season and is eligible for the 2015 NHL Draft.
Also recognized today: defenceman Jakob Chychrun of the Sarnia Sting (West Division), goaltender Stephen Dhillon of the Niagara IceDogs (Central Division), and centreman Sam Harding of the Oshawa Generals (East Division).
