Sacramento River Cats News Release
The Sacramento River Cats (50-28) beat the Omaha Royals (39-39) 3-1 on Sunday at Raley Field. RHP Erik Hiljus (9-5) earned the win, allowing just 1 ER on 4 H in 7.0 IP. RHP Chad Harville picked up his team-leading 12th save, as he threw a scoreless ninth inning. SS Bobby Crosby and DH Dave McCarty led the Cats' offense with 2 H each. McCarty hit his 14th home run of the season, a fourth-inning shot off RHP Brad Voyles.
With the victory, the Cats are now 23-11 in 34 games at Raley Field. They remain two-and-a-half games ahead of Las Vegas in the PCL South (Las Vegas won 12-8 at Salt Lake). Sacramento is now 22 games above .500, matching a season-high.
