Norris bomb ends road trip
June 22, 2003 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Round Rock Express News Release
A three-run home run by Dax Norris concluded a six run inning and lead the Round Rock Express to a 6-3 win over the El Paso Diablos in front of 2,839 at Cohen Stadium.
Down 1-0 in the third, singles by Tommy Whitemand and Eric Cole and a double by Jacques Landry gave Round Rock a 3-1 lead. Norris then extended by ripping his fifth homer of the year, this one off of starter Beltran Perez.
This would be all Greg Powell would need. Powell went a season high seven innings and allowed two runs, only one earned, on eight hits and one walk.
Powell (3-6) got the win and Perez (2-6) was the loser.
This concludes the Express' season high 12-game road trip. Round Rock went 4-8 on the trip.
The Express returns home Monday night at 7:05 p.m. against Frisco.
