TRAVERSE CITY, MI - Jake Sabol pitched his third consecutive complete game and Taylor Wrenn accounted for the only run of the contest with a homerun as the Traverse City Beach Bums edged the Lake Erie Crushers 1-0 on Wednesday night.
Sabol (4-0) needed 122 pitches for his latest masterpiece. The righthander allowed five hits while walking one and striking out four. After allowing a leadoff double in the second inning, he retired 13 batters in a row. Of Sabol's 27 outs, 21 came on ground balls and he lowered his ERA to 0.30.
The lone run of the game came on the first pitch of the fourth inning when Crushers' starter, Alex Kaminsky delivered an inside fastball that Wrenn turned on for his second homer in as many nights.
Kaminsky (1-2) took the tough luck loss allowing one run during seven innings of work.
