Ryan Strome Loaned to Sound Tigers

UNIONDALE, N.Y. (Jan. 15, 2014) - The New York Islanders have announced that forward Ryan Strome has been loaned to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (AHL).
Strome was recalled by the Islanders from the Sound Tigers on Dec. 11. In 15 games with the Islanders, Strome recorded four points (one goal, three assists). In 23 games with the Sound Tigers in 2013-14, he has 33 points (nine goals, 23 assists). He is currently on a franchise-record nine-game AHL point-scoring streak.
Strome, 20, was drafted by the Islanders in the first round (fifth overall) in 2011. After a 94-point (34 goals, 60 assists) season with the Niagara Ice Dogs (OHL) in 2012-13, Strome skated in 10 games with the Sound Tigers at the end of the campaign. He picked up seven points (two goals, five assists) in those 10 games.
The Sound Tigers will be on the road Friday and Saturday to face both the Binghamton Senators and Hershey Bears. They return home Sunday for a 3 p.m. contest against the Hartford Wolf Pack.
