Amerks Assign Forward Johnny McGuire to Idaho

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans announced today that the team has assigned rookie forward Johnny McGuire to the Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL.
McGuire, 20, has played in five games with the Amerks this season and recorded 40 penalty minutes. Last season, McGuire appeared in 61 Ontario Hockey League (OHL) games, splitting the campaign between Erie and Oshawa and collecting three points (1+2) and 105 penalty minutes. In 119 career OHL games, the 6-foot-1, 205-pound native of Peterborough, Ontario, collected seven points (4+3) and 299 penalty minutes.
