Wed., Jan. 8- Penguins 2 vs. SYRACUSE 4

Despite the first multi-goal game (2g) of Philip Samuelsson's career, the Penguins could not overcome a four-goal deficit in falling to the Crunch, 4-2. Kristers Gudlevskis made 24-fo- 26 saves to thwart a third-period rally by W-B/Scranton .

Fri., Jan. 10 - PENGUINS 4 at Adirondack 1

Consecutive 5-on-3 power play goals from Tom Kostopoulos and Brian Dumoulin broke open a tied game and lifted the Penguins to a 4-1 win over the Phantoms. Kostopoulos led all scorers with 2g-1a. Jeff Deslauriers made 31 saves in net.

Sat., Jan. 11 - PENGUINS 5 vs. Hartford 3

A sold-out crowd saw the Penguins rally for a 5-3 victory over the Wolf Pack. Anton Zlobin's second goal of the night, coming with 7:50 left in the third, was also the game-winner. Scott Harrington totaled three assists in the contest. Jeff Deslauriers stopped 16 shots for his 16th win of the year.

The Week Ahead

Fri., Jan. 17 and Sun., Jan. 19 - Penguins at PROVIDENCE

Providence (20-13-1-5) is in second place in the Atlantic Division. The Bruins have scored one goal or less in four of their last five games. Providence is one of two teams in the AHL to not have allowed a shorthanded goal this season. The Penguins will host Providence on Feb. 22 and Mar. 26

Sat., Jan. 18 - Penguins at PORTLAND

The Pirates sit in fifth place in the Atlantic - 10 points behind the Bruins - with a record of 15-14-1-5. Portland has been outscored 31-44 in the second period. Brett Hextall is currently on a seven-game point streak that has seen him total four goals and four assists.

Ice Chips

- On Saturday versus Hartford, Anton Zlobin recorded the first multi-goal game of his pro career on a two-goal effort which included the game-winner.

- Dominik Uher's shorthanded goal on Saturday against Hartford was the seventh of the year for the Penguins, tying them for second in the AHL.

- W-B/Scranton's 51 third-period goals are the most in the league this season.

- Philip Samuelsson has had two multi-point performances in his last three contests, and has already set career highs in assists (10) and points (12) in just 35 games this season.
