Rapid City Rush News Release

(Rapid City, SD) - The Rapid City Rush had their four-game win streak snapped at four games in a 5-3 loss at the hands of the Bloomington Blaze on Monday night. Rush forwards Shawn Limpright and Jesse Schultz each had three-point nights, but the Blaze collected the only third period goals to lift them to victory. The squads hit the ice again tomorrow and tickets are available by calling 716-7835 or online at www.gotmine.com.

The Rush got on the board early on Shawn Limpright's 24 goal of the season, a back-door tap on that was set up by Jesse Schultz at the 3:22 mark. Heading into the game, the Rush penalty kill was perfect in seven-straight contests while the Bloomington powerplay ranked second-to-last in the league. None of that mattered as the Blaze converted on their first chance of the game when defenseman Aaron Dawson fired in his 10th of the season to even the score with less than six minutes left.

The second period featured the fastest goal to start a period in Rush history that gave Rapid City a 2-1 lead. After a Collin Circelli faceoff win at center, Schultz feathered a pass to the back door where Limpright swatted in his second the night. Seven and a half minutes later, Jason Dale eluded the Rush defense before roofing a shot to the top-left corner for his 16th of the season. Shortly thereafter, the Rush regained the lead on a one-timer by Circelli from the right faceoff circle that was set up by Limpright and Schultz who each collected their third point of the night.

The Blaze controlled the final period, taking their first lead of the game at the midway point on a Jordy Trottier goal that served as the eventual game-winner. Jon Booras later added to his team-leading total with an insurance goal to give Bloomington the 5-3 win.
