he Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees enter the final week of their regular season with back to back games against the Laredo Bucks on Saturday and Sunday at the State Farm Arena. The Bees currently hold a magic number of three points to clinch the final playoff spot in the Berry Conference thanks to their six point lead over the Tulsa Oilers. Tulsa currently has two games in hand which will be made up on Tuesday and Friday with both teams skating on Saturday and Sunday.

Wednesday at Bloomington Blaze, W 4-2

BLOOMINGTON, Ill.- Aaron Lee scored twice as became the Killer Bees all-time leading goal scorer as the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees (29-26-7) defeated the Bloomington Blaze (23-30-7) by a 4-2 final on Wednesday night. Lee scored twice and John Murray made a season high 53 saves for the win.

Friday at Dayton Gems, W 5-4

TROTWOOD, Ohio- The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees (30-26-7) took another step towards the Berry Conference playoffs with a 5-4 victory over the Dayton Gems (20-27-13) on Friday night in their first-ever trip to Hara Arena. Aaron Lee scored twice and Brandon Campos and Scott Balan each added a goal and an assist.

Saturday at Quad City Mallards, L 1-3

MOLINE, Illinois- The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees (30-27-7) finished their regular season set of road games with a 3-1 loss to the Quad City Mallards (35-25-2) on Saturday night. Aaron Lee scored the Bees lone goal, his 36th of the season setting a new Killer Bees single season record.

BEES NEED TO KNOW

. Aaron Lee scored his 35th of the season on March 16th tying the Killer Bees single season record held by Jesse Bennefield in the 2008-09 season.

. The Killer Bees crowned a new goal scoring king on March 14 when Aaron Lee potted his 91st career goal against the Bloomington Blaze. The goal sent Lee ahead of Bill Newson who had 90 goals as a Killer Bee from 2003-07.

. Dan Gendur has registered two hat tricks this season, Feb. 12 against Tulsa and Feb. 24 against Bloomington. Two hat tricks in one season is believed to be a first for the Bees.

. After the Feb. 24 game against Bloomington coach Terry Ruskowski moved into fourth all-time in games coached in the CHL. Ruskowski has coached 638 CHL games, nine seasons in Laredo and one with the Bees.

. Once Aaron Lee stepped onto the ice on Jan. 15, Texas history was made. The games was Lee's 224th time donning a Killer Bees sweater, a new franchise record. Lee passed Ryan Shymr.

. When the Killer Bees scored their eighth goal against the Laredo Bucks on Feb. 22 it was the most ever allowed by Laredo at the Laredo Energy Arena.
