
2011-12 All-CHL Team Announced

GLENDALE, AZ - The Central Hockey League (CHL) announced today the six member All-CHL Team for the 2011-12 season, selected through balloting of all 14 CHL head coaches. This year's team is comprised of forwards Shawn Limpright of Rapid City, Brandon Marino of Quad City and Todd Robinson of Evansville. They are joined by defensemen Frankie DeAngelis of Fort Wayne and Riley Weselowski of Rapid City with goaltender Mark Guggenberger of Texas.

Shawn Limpright, Forward (Rapid City Rush): Shawn Limpright, in his 11th professional season, is enjoying his best professional season with a career-high in points (75), goals (24) and assists (51). The St. Adolphe, Manitoba native was a member of the CHL Championship Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs last season and signed with the Rush during the off-season. His outstanding all-around play was recognized recently when he was voted the "ËBest Defensive Forward' in the CHL's annual "ËBest of the Best' poll. His 75 points are tied for fourth in the league in scoring and in 178 career CHL games (with Rapid City and Bossier-Shreveport), Limpright has 62 goals and 119 assists (181 points). Limpright is one of five finalists for the CHL's Most Valuable Player award.
Brandon Marino, Forward (Quad City Mallards): Brandon Marino is having a breakout year in just his third professional season as he leads the CHL with 39 goals and 12 power play goals and is second with 86 points. The Riverside, California native has more points this season than in his first two years combined. Marino scored the game winning goal and had three assists in the 2012 CHL All-Star Game earning that game's Most Valuable Player honor. He is one of five finalists for the CHL's Most Valuable Player award and had the Mallards on the brink of a playoff berth with a 35-25-2 record. Marino was named the Oakley Three Star Player of the Month for January and is in the lead for the Oakley Three Star Player of the Year award with 69 points.
Todd Robinson, Forward (Evansville IceMen): Todd Robinson leads the CHL with 90 points (23-67=90) and has helped the IceMen become one of the top teams in the CHL (second in the Turner Conference with 80 points). A 2012 CHL All-Star team member, Robinson has been named the Oakley CHL Player of the Week three times and is currently a finalist for the CHL Most Valuable Player award. During the season, Robinson had a 17-game point streak, the longest in the CHL this season. In his more than 800 professional games, the Trail, British Columbia native has scored more than 1,200 points ranking as the king of minor pro hockey in terms of points. Robinson was voted tops in the league as the "ËBest Overall Player', the "ËBest Playmaker' and the "ËBest on the Power Play' in the league's annual "ËBest of the Best' poll.
Frankie DeAngelis, Defenseman (Fort Wayne Komets): Frankie DeAngelis has shown great consistency in his three pro seasons notching 41 points in 2009-10, 44 points in 2010-11 and is now sitting at 42 points for this season. The Woodbridge, Ontario native is tied for the lead among all defensemen with 42 points (17-25=42) and his 17 goals are second among all blue liners and mark a career-high. DeAngelis is one of five finalists for the CHL's Most Outstanding Defenseman award Riley Weselowski, Defenseman (Rapid City Rush): Riley Weselowksi has been the heart and soul of the Rush's defense for three seasons and this year has established career-highs in points (39), goals (9) and assists (30). The Pilot Mound, Manitoba native is also one of the most active players off the ice being named one of the five finalists for the CHL Man of the Year award. The 2012 CHL All-Star is also one of five finalists for the CHL's Most Outstanding Defenseman award.
Mark Guggenberger, Goaltender (Texas Brahmas): Mark Guggenberger has had an electric rookie season carrying a 21-8-3 record with a league-best 2.07 goals against average. In February, the Richfield, Minnesota native set a CHL record for consecutive scoreless minutes in the midst of three straight shutouts. The first-year player joins John DeCaro (2006-07) and Tyler Weiman (2004-05) as the only rookies in the last 10 years to be named a member of the All-CHL Team. Guggenberger was the Sher-Wood CHL Player of the Month for February and the 50/50 Central CHL Rookie of the Month for February and is currently one of five finalists for the CHL Rookie of the Year and the CHL Most Outstanding Goaltender. The CHL Man of the Year will be announced on Tuesday, March 20 with the finalists being Allen's Jason Deitsch, Arizona's Tyler Butler, Dayton's Greg Labenski, Fort Wayne's Brent Henley and Rapid City's Riley Weselowski.
