
Netminder Brown Returns to Mallards

MOLINE, Ill. - Goaltender David Brown has been reassigned to the Quad City Mallards by the American Hockey League's Abbotsford Heat while netminder Justin Grant has been waived by the Mallards, the Mallards announced today.
Brown, 27, returns to the Mallards after last Wednesday being recalled to the Heat for the second time in a matter of weeks. While Brown has not seen game action for Abbotsford, he has gone 13-8-1 with a 2.88 goals against average and a .907 save percentage in 23 games since joining the Mallards in December. Brown split the start of the season between Abbotsford and the ECHL's Las Vegas Wranglers. Brown went 2-2-0 with a 2.95 goals against average and a .874 save percentage in four outings with the Wranglers.
Grant, 30, last week joined the Mallards for the third time this season. The 6' 0" 185-pound Burlington, Iowa, native has played briefly in four games for Quad City this year. He also served as the Missouri Mavericks' back-up in the Mavericks' November 26 game against the Mallards. Last season Grant joined the Mallards for three separate stints.
The 6' 0", 185-pound Brown first played for the Mallards last season. The Stoney Creek, Ontario, native last year led the CHL in save percentage (.930), finished second in goals against average (2.33) and finished tied for second in shutouts (4) while going 17-16-1 in 37 games for Quad City. For his efforts, Brown was named a finalist for the CHL Goaltender of the Year award.
Brown last season was called up to the American League on five separate occasions and played in two games for the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins during which he turned in a 3.75 goals against average and .898 save percentage without recording a win or loss.
The Mallards return to action tomorrow evening against the Gems in Dayton. The Mallards next play at home on the final night of the regular season- Saturday evening at 7:05 p.m. - against the Bloomington Blaze. The first 1,000 fans through the doors for Saturday's regular season finale will receive free 2011-12 Mallards player card sets. An auction of game-worn Mallards jerseys will immediately follow Saturday evening's game.

The box office is open weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and on game days from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the second period. Individual game tickets are available for $13 in the upper level and $18 in the lower level and $25 for the first row along the glass for adults. Tickets for kids 12 and under are available for $5 off adult rates. In addition, tickets are available to military personnel for $2 off the regular adult rate.
