Rapid City Rush News Release
(Rapid City, SD) - With less than twenty games remaining in the 2012-13 regular season, the Rapid City Rush added a much-needed offensive weapon to assist in the team's playoff run. Just prior to Friday's game against the Quad City Mallards, the Rush signed winger Dan Gendur (GEN-duhr) who finished last season ranked seventh in the CHL with 73 points as a member of the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees. The Rush are on a four-game road trip before returning back to home ice on February 22nd for 'Pink at the Rink' versus the Bloomington Blaze. Tickets are on sale now through the Rush offices at 716-7825 or online at www.gotmine.com.
A native of Victoria, British Columbia, Gendur was selected by the Vancouver Canucks in round seven, #206 overall in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. Gender has a total of ten games at the American Hockey League level, suiting up for the Manitoba Moose and Milwaukee Admirals where he tallied a goal and an assist.
In 62 games last season, Gendur led the Killer Bees and ranked seventh overall in the CHL with 73 total points on 28 goals and 45 assists. In 99 total CHL games, all with Rio Grande Valley, Gendur has amassed 41 goals and 66 assists for 107 points.
Prior to joining the Rush, the 25-year old Gendur split time this season between the Evansville IceMen and Orlando Solar Bears of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) where he totaled 14 goals and 28 total points. On January 2nd, Gendur was honored with ECHL Player of the Week honors after scoring five of Orlando's 10 goals, helping the Solar Bears to a 2-0-0 record. In that week, the fifth-year pro set a team record with four goals in one game in an 8-4 victory over the Florida Everblades.
The Rush are in action against the Quad City Mallards tonight and Gendur is expected to be in the lineup and will wear #19.
