
Wichita Holds On to #1 Spot in Sher-Wood Coaches Poll

GLENDALE, AZ (February 15, 2013) - By a narrow margin, the Wichita Thunder (27-14-6) have held on to the top spot in the Sher-Wood Coaches Poll warding off the rush from the Fort Worth Brahmas (28-15-5). This marks the second straight poll the Thunder have been on top as they currently maintain a two point lead on the Brahmas who move up to the #2 spot. Wichita totaled 85 points in the current poll and Fort Worth totaled 83 points.
The poll is released on or near the beginning and middle of each month throughout the regular season. Each first place vote receives 10 points, second place votes earn 9 points, etc.
Allen had held the top spot for the first half of the season but they now find themselves in the #3 spot earning one first place vote. Wichita had five first place votes and Fort Worth was the top vote on four ballots (teams are unable to vote for themselves).
Fort Worth, Denver, Rapid City and Arizona all moved up one spot and the biggest drop came from Bloomington who fell from the #5 spot to #7.
