Victoria, B.C. - The Victoria Royals have traded 2002-born goalie Connor Martin to the Seattle Thunderbirds for an eighth-round pick in the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft.

Martin signed with the Royals in 2018 after participating in the Royals 2017 training camp where he made a memorable impression on coaching staff. The 18-year-old spent three seasons with Victoria playing in 12 games earning a 0.883 SV% and a 3.71 GAA.

"We want to thank Connor for his contribution to the Royals and we wish him all the best with Seattle," GM and Head Coach Dan Price said. "He has a strong veteran presence in the net and he's joining a great organization in the Thunderbirds."

The Royals are back in action this weekend with the Royals Country Bash on Friday. On Saturday, it's the annual Canadian Armed Forces Military Appreciation Night which includes a special door prize for the first 2000 guests and another Royals specialty jersey to be auctioned off with proceeds going towards the Military Family Resource Centre in Esquimalt.
