Published on November 3, 2021 under Western Hockey League (WHL)
Saskatoon Blades News Release
The Saskatoon Blades and Swift Current Broncos open their four-game season series at SaskTel Centre, looking to follow up Saturday's win in Medicine Hat with a second consecutive victory.
The Blades split last weekend's two-game trip into southern Alberta, dropping a 4-3 decision in Lethbridge before bouncing back with a 4-2 win in the Hat.
Given an honourable mention in the most recent version of the CHL's Top-10, the Blades wrapped up the month of October with a daunting 8-2-1-0 record, and bring a 4-0-1-0 record on home ice into Wednesday's contest.
Swift Current is looking to avoid a tenth straight loss, having not won since October 2nd vs. Medicine Hat.
Who to Watch
Alternate captain Tristen Robins took the title as WHL Player of the Month for October earlier this week. The San Jose Sharks prospect leads the league in scoring with 21 points and sits first with 14 assists. This also places the Clear Lake, MB product tied for second in scoring across the entire CHL.
Partner in crime Kyle Crnkovic is also topping the charts in WHL categories, sitting tied for first with 10 goals and solo first place with three shorthanded markers. The alternate captain and winger to Robins left notched two goals against Medicine Hat, and is riding a league-high 11 game point streak.
Import forward Egor Sidorov continues to climb the scoring charts, notching a season-high three points in the Blades most recent victory. The rookie from Belarus has points in six of the last seven games, and is now tied for third in team scoring with 10 points (5G-5A) in 11 games.
