Regina Pats News Release
Regina, Sask.ÃÂ - The Regina Pats Hockey Club, in partnership with Brandt, is pleased to announce that Enbridge and Sherwood Co-op have teamed up with the Pats for their inaugural We Care Weekday game in support of the Regina Food Bank.
Enbridge and Sherwood Co-op have put their support behind the Food Bank, committing $10,000 each. As part of the season-long program, The Brandt Group of Companies is matching the total raised through their Thanks a Billion program, for a total of $40,000.
"We are grateful and honoured to be working with the Regina Food Bank, Enbridge, Sherwood Co-op and Brandt on our first ever We Care Weekday game," Pats COO Trevor Buhnai said. "The Pats are proud to play a part in helping the Food Bank reach their goal to secure 1 million meals for Regina families through the generous support of these community-minded supporters."
The Mosaic Million Meal Challenge is a month-long community campaign that runs every October with the goal of raising one million meals in food and funds for the Regina Food Bank. The campaign ended this past weekend, and tonight's additional funds willÃÂ feed thousands in the community.
"The Regina Pats and Brandt's commitment to home illustrates what is special about our community," Regina Food Bank Vice-President, Community, David Froh said. "We Care Weekdays are a win-win for Regina charities and the Regina Pats. We hope the community steps up to support this creative fundraising initiative and joins us in cheering on the team from the stands."
