Lethbridge Hurricanes News Release

LETHBRIDGE, AB - The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club announced Wednesday that they have acquired a second- round draft pick in 2023 and a fourth-round draft pick in 2025 from the Edmonton Oil Kings in exchange for 2005-born forward Cole Miller.

Miller, 16, was originally drafted by the Hurricanes in the first round (16th overall) in the 2020 Western Hockey League Prospects Draft. The Edmonton, Alberta product appeared in 11 games with the 'Canes during the shortened 2020-2021 season collecting one goal and a minus-2 rating.

"When we drafted Cole, our belief was that he was going to be a good player for many years. Although we still believe that will be the case, it will not be as a Hurricane. It unfortunately wasn 't a fit for Miller to be apart of our organization," said Hurricanes General Manager Peter Anholt.

"We have been so lucky and proud that Hurricanes players play with pride and with great respect for our organization and community. We will continue to strive for that and to always be better. We want to wish Cole all the best as he continues his hockey career somewhere else."

The Hurricanes return to action on Friday when they welcome the Moose Jaw Warriors to the ENMAX Centre at 7:00pm.

Tickets for the game can be purchased by visiting the ENMAX Centre Ticket Centre, the Yates Memorial Theatre Ticket Centre, by calling 403-329-SEAT (7328) or online at www.lethbridgehurricanes.com.
