Victoria, BC - The Victoria Royals defeated the Swift Current Broncos 4-0 on Friday night as goaltender Brock Gould turned aside all 23 shots he faced in the victory.

Brick Wall: Royals netminder Brock Gould stopped all 23 shots he faced tonight for his first career WHL shutout. Gould's first career WHL win also came against the Broncos, in a 5-2 victory on October 17, 2018.
Back in the Line-up: Tonight's game saw Victoria forwards Gary Haden, Alex Bolshakov, Graeme Bryks and Riley Gannon return from injury. The contest was Bolshakov's first game of the season.
Manitoba Connection: Victoria goaltender Brock Gould and Swift Current netminder Isaac Poulter were teammates during the 2017-18 season at Rink Hockey Academy in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL). This is the second time the two netminders have faced each other in their WHL careers.
First Career Game: Swift Current affiliated player Josh Davies played in his first career WHL game tonight. The 2004-born forward from Airdrie, AB was recently called up from the Langford, BC based Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (PCHA) of the CSSHL.
Sitting Out: Due to injury the Royals were missing forwards Carson Miller and Kaid Oliver, along with defenceman Jacob Herauf. Victoria also scratched defender Nolan Bentham.
Hitting the Road: The Royals will now head out on the road for an afternoon contest this Sunday versus the Vancouver Giants at Langley Events Centre. Puck drop is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
Back at the Barn: Victoria will begin a five-game homestand with a pair of contests against the Kamloops Blazers on Friday, October 25th and Saturday, October 26th.
