MEMPHIS, TN - Omaha slugged Memphis 7-2 Monday night at AutoZone Park belting four home runs en route to victory.

The Royals wasted no time scoring two runs in the first inning on former Redbird and Cardinal Rick Ankiel's home run to left field. The long ball again came into play in the third with Kila Ka'aihue crushing a three-run homer over the Omaha bullpen in right-centerfield. Alex Gordon and Ka'aihue hit back-to-back home runs in the fifth to extend the Royals lead to 7-1. Memphis added a run in the seventh on Ruben Gotay's double to cap the scoring. Ka'aihue finished the night 3-for-4 with four RBI to lead the O-Royals.

Omaha starter Bryan Bullington was sharp over his seven innings allowing two runs on four hits with six strikeouts on 78 pitches to earn his seventh win of the year. Memphis starter Chuckie Fick took the loss giving up seven runs on seven hits with five strikeouts in five innings of work.

Memphis and Omaha play tomorrow night with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Cardinals outfielder Ryan Ludwick is slated to begin an injury rehab assignment with the Redbirds tomorrow.
