Izturis Completes Rehab with Bees

SALT LAKE CITY (July 19, 2010) - The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announced that infielder Maicer Izturis has completed his rehab assignment with Triple-A Salt Lake and will return to the Angels active roster today.

Izturis, 29, was placed on the Disabled List on June 16 with a strained left forearm. He appeared in two games for the Bees during his rehab assignment, hitting.286 with one RBI. In 30 games for the Angels in 2010, he owns a .233 batting average with eight doubles, two home runs, 15 RBI and four stolen bases. The Barquisimeto, Venezuela native was originally signed by the Cleveland Indians as a free agent in 1998 and joined the Angels via trade from the Washington Nationals in 2004.
