Max Ramirez hit a grand slam in the first inning to lead the Oklahoma City RedHawks past the Iowa Cubs, 8-0, Monday night at Principal Park. The RedHawks posted seven runs in the first two innings of the game, before Iowa even got a hit. Craig Gentry led off with a single before stealing second base. Gentry advanced to third on Mitch Moreland's single and later scored the first run of the game. With the bases loaded Ramirez launched a shot to left center field for a 5-0 Oklahoma City advantage. Moreland plated Guilder Rodriguez with a sacrifice fly in the second inning. Jarrod Saltalamacchia then tripled to drive in Rodriguez and take a 7-0 lead.

Ramirez and Matthew Brown were 2-for-4 for the RedHawks. Iowa's Micah Hoffpauir posted the team's only run, a double in the fourth inning.
