Royals Get Three From AHL

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, today announced that forward Olivier Labelle has been returned to the Royals from the Providence Bruins of the AHL. In other separate transactions, (i) forward Yannick Riendeau has been assigned from Providence to Reading; and (ii) forward Alex Berry has been assigned from the Marlies to the Royals.

Labelle, a fourth year pro from St. Eustache, Quebec, was loaned to Providence on March 25 and played two games with the Bruins without registering any points or penalty minutes. In fifty-two games with the Royals this season, Labelle has scored twenty-three goals, assisted on sixteen others (thirty-nine points) and picked up a team leading 152 penalty minutes. This marks the second trip of the season for Riendeau, a first year pro from Boucherville, Quebec, to Reading. He was previously assigned to the Royals on February 13, 2010 and played three games with the team, scoring two goals and assisting on another (three points). In twenty-two games with Providence this season, Riendeau has scored one goal and picked up four assists (five points) and six penalty minutes. For Berry, a first year pro from Danvers, Massachusetts, this is his third trip to Reading. He has played four games for the Royals and registered four assists. In fifty-four games with the Marlies, he has scored three goals, assisted on four others (seven points) and picked up ninety-seven penalty minutes.

The Royals continue the team's season long six game road trip tonight (Wednesday, March 31, 2010 @ 7:05 pm) at First Arena in Elmira, New York, where the team will face the Elmira Jackals. The Royals game night broadcast on the Royals Radio Network presented by Transmissions by Arbogast will begin at 6:35 pm.
