
Royals Edged by Americans in Overtime

Kennewick, WA- The Victoria Royals allowed three unanswered goals as they fell 6-5 in overtime to the Tri-City Americans on Saturday night at the Toyota Center.
Tri-City's Vladislav Lukin scored his second of the night when he notched the game winner in overtime after Brian Williams and Juuso Valimaki scored to force extra time. Victoria took a 5-3 lead into the second period as both teams combined for eight goals in the first frame, which included four markers in the game's opening three minutes. The Royals received two goals from Tyler Soy and markers from Chaz Reddekopp, Dante Hannoun, and Logan Fisher. The Americans' other goals were tallied by Brandon Carlo and Parker Bowles.
The Royals started netminder Coleman Vollrath in goal, who stopped one of four shots fired at him, before being replaced by Griffen Outhouse midway through the first period. The 17-year-old Outhouse turned away 14 of the 17 shots he faced the rest of the way. The Americans opted for Nicholas Sanders in net, who made three saves on the seven shots fired his way in first half of the opening period. Evan Sarthou got the nod in relief and made 18 saves on the 19 shots directed at him.
Victoria went 1/425.0% with the man advantage, while Tri-City went 2/450.0%.
