Reading Royals News Release
Reading, PA - The Reading Royals today announced that the organization expects the team's one-millionth fan to pass through the Sovereign Center turnstiles on Saturday, March 25, when the Royals host the Trenton Titans (7:00 pm). It is currently projected that the Royals' âDrive to A Million Brought To You By Commerce Bank' will be attained in three more home dates. As of the date of this release, 984,849 fans have attended Royals' regular season home games in the five seasons up to and including this 2005-06 year. Reading takes on the Wheeling Nailers on Tuesday, March 21, and then faces Johnstown on Friday, March 24, prior to the March 25 match-up against the Titans.
In order to facilitate the determination of the one-millionth fan in next Saturday night's game, only the Main Gate at Sovereign Center (Seventh and Penn Street) will be open until the one-millionth fan has actually been identified. The Main Gate will be opened to all ticketed fans at 5:30 pm on that night. All other entrances to the Sovereign Center will be opened immediately after the one-millionth fan has been identified. As previously announced, the Royals' organization expects to host a celebration that befits this momentous occasion in the history of the organization. The individual who actually is the one-millionth fan to attend a Royals' game at the Sovereign Center can expect to receive a variety of gifts from the Royals' organization, as well as an opportunity to win significant prizes in an on-ice promotion held during one of the intermissions at that night's game.
The Royals travel to WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, West Virginia, tonight to take on the Nailers. Game time is 8:05 pm in order to accommodate local television coverage. After tonight's game in Wheeling, the Royals jump on the bus again and travel to the Toledo Sports Arena (3:00 pm) for the final time in the regular season. Reading returns to the Sovereign Center on Tuesday night to take on the Nailers at 7:00 pm. On that night, the first 2500 fans in attendance receive a Royals' poster courtesy of the Reading Eagle. Royals' game day broadcasts can be heard on ESPN Radio 1240 am in Ephrata and www.royalshockey.com with pre-game beginning 30 minutes before the opening face-off. Streaming video is also available through the Royals' website on a pay per view basis provided by B2 Networks.
