Langley, BC - The Victoria Royals were defeated 3-0 by the Vancouver Giants on Friday night at the Langley Events Centre in the first of three games in three days between the two clubs.

Notes:
Three Game Series: Tonight, marked the first contest of three games in three days between the Royals and Giants. This is the sixth time this has occurred between the two clubs since the 2013-14 season.
Returning Players: Victoria forward Sean Gulka made his return to the Royals' line-up after he missed 16 games. Prior to tonight, the Langley, BC native's last contest was on January 17th against the Giants. The Royals were still without regulars Shane Farkas, Jacob Herauf, Graeme Bryks, Ty Yoder, Noah Lamb and Carson Golder.
WHL Debut: Royals' affiliated player Gannon Laroque played in his first career regular season WHL game tonight. The 2003-born defenceman was recalled from the Northern Alberta X-Treme Prep team (NAX) of the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL). In 34 games with NAX he has posted 34 points (7g-27a). The Edmonton, AB product has also played five contests for the Fort McMurray Oil Barons of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL).
Playoff Clinch: Earlier this week, both the Royals and Giants clinched a spot in the 2020 WHL Playoffs. Victoria has now made the playoffs for the ninth consecutive season. In the 14-year history of the Royals/Bruins franchise, the team has made 13 playoff appearances. Meanwhile, Vancouver has made the playoffs for the third consecutive year.
Home Again: The Royals return home tomorrow and Sunday for a two-game set against the Giants. Puck drop for Saturday's game is at 7:05 p.m., while Sunday's contest is at 3:05 p.m. At Sunday's game there will be an e-sports tournament before the contest and an opportunity to skate with the players post-game.
