MOOSE JAW, SK. - The Swift Current Broncos (10-44-1-3) jumped out to an early 2-0 lead Friday night, but the Moose Jaw Warriors (13-39-4-0) came storming back and won 6-2 in a game that featured a goalie fight.

The Broncos got off to a hot start as they jumped out to a 2-0 lead before the game was 10 minutes old. First was Kaleb Bulych with a wrist shot from the blue line that bounced off the blocker of Brock Gould and into the net.

After a huge pad save by Isaac Poulter at one end, Hayden Ostir then slid the puck the slot for Cole Nagy on an odd-man rush as he fired home his fifth of the year to give the Broncos a 2-0 lead at the 9:01 mark of the first.

Moose Jaw responded quickly however. Martin Lang took a pass from the corner while alone in front and beat Poulter on the glove side to make it 2-1.

The Warriors then had back to back power plays and connected on the second one when Cade Hayes knocked home a rebound in front of the net to tie the game at two heading into the first intermission.

Moose Jaw kept the pressure on in the second period and quickly took the lead. After being stopped on a shorthanded breakaway just moments earlier, Tate Popple ripped a shot passed a screened Poulter on that same penalty kill to make the score 3-2.

Ryder Korczak then scored off the rush four minutes later before Hayes scored his second power-play goal of the game two minutes after that to give the Warriors a 5-2 lead heading into the third period.

Popple added his second of the game in the third period before a near line brawl broke out. After Matthew Benson was hit into the boards from behind in his own zone, he got up and dragged Logan Doust to ice which brought all 10 players on the ice into the corner.

Poulter and Brock Gould then raced to centre ice and dropped the gloves as well, with Poulter scoring the take down. When the dust settled, Poulter, Gould, Benson, Doust, Hayes and Raphael Pelletier were all sent to the locker room. Isaiah DiLaura and Boston Bilous took over in net.

The game didn't feature much excitement after that as the Warriors won 6-2, ending their 13-game losing streak and handing the Broncos their 13th loss in a row.

The two teams meet tomorrow at the Innovation Credit Union iPlex for the annial Suits Up game presented by RE/MAX to promote Organ Donation.
