Tonight...

In the eighth of ten meetings this season, the Saskatoon Blades look to extend their four-game winning-streak with the second half of a home-and-home against the Prince Albert Raiders. Saskatoon has the chance to mathematically clinch a playoff spot, needing just a single point. The Blades has dominated the season series vs. the Raiders, winning six of seven so far, including Friday night's 4-2 victory at the Sasktel Centre in front of 4699 fans.

Head to head...

Saskatoon has had the Raiders number nearly all season, going 6-1-0-0 against their Highway 11 rivals. They've also won five-straight against the reigning WHL champions, and have outscored the Raiders 22-12 in the season series. Two of the Blades victories have come in overtime, including a 2-1 decision to open the season on September 21st. Veteran blue-liner Scott Walford has collected the most points of any Blade against the Raiders with 10 (3G, 7A), while forward Tristen Robins, who scored a pair of 3rd period markers in Friday's win, is right behind with 9 points (4G, 5A).

Playoff race...

With 10 games to go in the regular season, the Blades have all but mathematically secured a playoff spot, needing just one point to work in their favour. Following Friday's win over P.A., Saskatoon moved to within six points of the division-leading Raiders. The Blades remain in the second wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference and fourth place in the division; five points back of the 2nd-place Brandon Wheat Kings and two back of the Winnipeg ICE in third.

My oh Maier...

The Blades number one goaltender, Nolan Maier, has been sensational against the Raiders this season. Taking the crease in all seven games and earning six victories, the Yorkton, SK native dons an impressive 1.68 goals against average, and 0.942 save percentage against P.A.

Up next...

The Blades will return home to host the Calgary Hitmen on March 4th for Winning Wednesday! If the Blades win, everyone at the game will go home with a free ticket to the next home game - which happens to be Friday, March 6th featuring specially made jerseys worn by the Blades for "The WHL Suits Up to promote Organ Donation".9
