The loss to the Bruins ended the Monarchs winning streak at seven games and their undefeated-in-regulation streak at 14-games (10-0-2-2). Goaltender Milan Hnilicka took the loss for the Monarchs, his seventh of the season. The game was Hnilicka's first with the Monarchs since returning from Los Angeles.

Vs. Springfield (3/21): Center Steve Kelly and right wing Pavel Rosa each had two goals and an assist in the Monarchs 8-3 beating of the Springfield Falcons at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Sunday afternoon. The Monarchs also received goals from left wing Noah Clarke, center Jerred Smithson, right wing Sam Ftorek and center Michael Cammalleri. Goaltender Mathieu Chouinard stopped 24 shots for his 10th win of the season.

TEAM NOTEs

Center Steve Kelly became the first Monarchs player to reach the 150-point plateau with his two goals and one assist against the Springfield Falcons on March 21. Kelly has 46 goals, 105 assists and 151 points in 152 career games with the Monarchs over the last three seasons.

With his two goals against the Falcons on March 21, Kelly tied former left wing Derek Bekar for third on the Monarchs all-time goals scored list with 46. Only former left wing Eric Healey (66) and current right wing Pavel Rosa (59) have more goals as a Monarch than Kelly.

Kelly has nine points (4-5=9) and a rating of plus-9 in his last seven games. He has four points (3-1=4) and a rating of plus-3 in his last three games.

Kelly, who has never collected a pro hat trick, established a new season high by scoring two goals against the Falcons on March 21. Kelly had four two-goal games with the Monarchs during the 2002-03 season.

Rosa was held without a point for the first time in 10 games on March 20 as the Providence Bruins blanked the Monarchs, 1-0. Rosa, who leads the Monarchs and the AHL with 74 points (31-43=74), had 13 points (7-6=13) during his nine-game scoring streak. Rosa has had two nine-game scoring streaks this season.

Rosa, who leads the AHL with 273 shots, was held without a shot on goal for the first time this season versus the Bruins on March 20.

With his two goals and one assist against the Falcons on March 21, Rosa established a new Monarchs single season scoring record with 74 points (31-43=74). The previous record was 73 points, scored by Healey during the 2002-03 season.

With his first of two goals against the Falcons on March 21, Rosa became only the second Monarch to ever score 30 or more goals in one season. Healey, the team record holder for goals in a season, is the other. He led the Monarchs and the AHL with 42 goals last season. Rosa leads the Monarchs with 31 goals this season.

The Monarchs are unbeaten in regulation (7-0-2-2) in each of goaltender Adam Hauser's last 11 appearances. Hauser, winner of five straight contests overall, leads the Monarchs with 18 wins. The team record for goaltending wins in a season is 23, set by former Monarch Travis Scott last year.

The Monarchs tied a franchise record by scoring eight goals against the Falcons on March 21. Three times in their history, the Monarchs have scored eight goals in a game. In two of the three games, their opponent has been the Falcons. The Monarchs also whipped the Falcons 8-4 on February 20, 2002.

The Monarchs tied a season high by scoring four goals in the first period against the Falcons on March 21. The Monarchs also totaled four goals in the second period against the Worcester IceCats on December 27, 2003.

The Monarchs 1-0 loss to the Bruins on March 20 put an end to three impressive streaks. The Monarchs entered the contest against the Bruins with seven straight wins (one short of the franchise record). They also entered the contest riding a 14-game unbeaten-in-regulation streak (10-0-2-2) and an eight-game unbeaten-in-regulation streak on home ice (5-0-1-2). The Monarchs have just two regulation losses in their last 20 games (13-2-3-2). Both losses have come at the hands of the Bruins (March 20, 1-0; February 15, 3-1).

The Monarchs posted their 22nd home win of the season with their victory over the Falcons on March 21. The team record for home victories in a season is 23, set in 2001-02 and tied last year. The Monarchs have four home games left on their 2003-04 schedule. They'll have a chance to tie the franchise record when they host the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at the Verizon Wireless Arena on April 2.

The Monarchs, who lead the AHL in attendance with an average of 9,093 fans per game, hosted their 17th sellout of the season (9,916) on March 21 versus the Falcons. The Monarchs led the AHL in attendance last year when they averaged 8,986 fans. They also had 21 sellouts in 40 regular season home dates at the Verizon Wireless Arena last year.

The conclusion of the Monarchs annual "Shirt Off Our Back" promotion is scheduled for Sunday, April 11 when the Monarchs meet the Worcester IceCats at 6:05 p.m. The promotion benefits the Monarchs Care Foundation and Special Olympics of New Hampshire. From now on until the season finale, fans should be on the lookout for a special table set up behind section 107 with jars representing the players. Fans will be able to donate $1 for the opportunity to fill out a raffle ticket and place it in the jar of their favorite player. On April 11, immediately following the game, the Monarchs will pick a winner from each of the jars. The winners will then be escorted onto the ice where the players will take off their game-worn jerseys, autograph them, and hand them over. (Note: The fans must be present to win the jerseys).

MONARCHS AT YOUR SERVICE (RECAP)

The Monarchs are pleased to announce that the March 16 "At Your Service" Dinner at the Event Center at C.R. Sparks Restaurant in Bedford, NH, netted $70,000 for the Monarchs Care Foundation and its charitable partners: Big Brothers Big Sisters Manchester, Catholic Medical Center, Child Health Services and Boys & Girls Club of Manchester. Organized by the Monarchs Wives Group, the "At Your Service" Dinner annually turns a normally rugged hockey team into an accomplished wait staff eager to perform special requests for charitable donations. Requests from the event ranged from singing a song and telling a joke to posing for a photo and dancing. Monarchs play-by-play man Ken Cail and Monarchs public address announcer Sean Sullivan opened the event by introducing the Monarchs players and the Monarchs coaching staff. Monarchs head coach Bruce Boudreau and Monarchs president Jeff Eisenberg also briefly addressed the nearly 400 fans attending before turning the evening over to the players.

NH LEGENDS OF HOCKEY INDUCT 9 NEW MEMBERS (RECAP)
