
Gillies and Wilson at Friendly\'s this evening for Family Fun Night

Springfield, MA - Springfield Falcons left wing Trevor Gillies and defenseman Mike Wilson will be at the Friendly's Restaurant at 529 Memorial Drive in Chicopee from 5 to 8 pm tonight in the latest Family Fun Night. Screech, the Falcons lovable mascot, will also be present at the event. A portion of the sales from each Family Fun Night benefit the Jennifer Ferraro Foundation and Springfield Falcons Charities, Inc.
Gillies, 25, has registered three points with two goals and an assist for the Falcons this season. The rugged forward ranks third in the American Hockey League with 275 penalty minutes this season and leads the league with 35 major penalties. He scored his first AHL goal in a 6-2 Falcons' win over the Worcester IceCats on December 5th. Gillies is in his fifth season of professional hockey.
Wilson, 29, recorded 11 points (3g, 8a) and ranks second on the team with a plus/minus rating of +4 in 45 games with the Falcons this season. The blueliner had season-ending surgery to repair a fractured thumb earlier this month. Wilson has registered 57 points (16g, 41a) in 336 National Hockey League games with the Buffalo Sabres, Florida Panthers, Pittsburgh Penguins, and New York Rangers during his nine-year professional career.
The Jennifer Ferraro Foundation was established in memory of Jennifer Ferraro, who lost her courageous battle with stomach cancer in November 2002. The foundation assists patients with stomach and other cancers at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC, and Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. Her husband, Chris, and brother-in-law, Peter, play for Springfield and serve as Co-Captains of the team.
Springfield Falcons Charities, Inc. supports local children's charities throughout Western Massachusetts and Northern Connecticut. In the past seven years, Springfield Falcons Charities, Inc. has donated over $350,000 to the community.
