Manchester Monarchs News Release

LAST WEEK'S HIGHLIGHTS Vs. Providence (1/23): Forward Michael Cammalleri scored with just six seconds left in overtime to lift the Monarchs over the Providence Bruins, 4-3, at the Dunkin' Donuts Center on Friday night. The Monarchs had a 3-1 lead going into the third period with goals from center Steve Kelly, left wing Jeff Giuliano and left wing Noah Clarke, but Providence tied it up with goals from left wing Ivan Huml and center Andre Savage. Center Brendan Walsh had the first goal for the Bruins. Monarchs goaltender Adam Hauser stopped 14 of the 17 shots he faced for his 10th victory of the season.

Vs. Hartford (1/24): Center Yanick Lehoux and right wing Pavel Rosa scored the only goals in the Monarchs 2-0 shutout of the Hartford Wolf Pack on Saturday night at the Hartford Civic Center. Monarchs goaltender Mathieu Chouinard earned his third shutout and seventh win by stopping all 34 shots he faced. Rosa's power-play goal was his 50th point of the season.

Vs. Hartford (1/25): Four goals in a span of eight minutes and 28 seconds in the second period gave the Wolf Pack a 4-2 victory over the Monarchs at the Hartford Civic Center on Sunday afternoon. Center Bobby Andrews, right wing Paul Healey (2) and center Benoit Dusablon scored for the Wolf Pack. The Monarchs fought back in the third period with goals from right wing George Parros and forward Michael Cammalleri, but it wasn't enough. Goaltender Adam Hauser stopped 32 of the 36 shots he faced while posting his 10th loss of the season.

TEAM NOTES Left wing Jeff Giuliano collected his second multi-point game of the season with two assists against the Hartford Wolf Pack on Sunday. Giuliano recorded his only other multi-point game (1-1=2) against the Providence Bruins on Nov. 29.

Giuliano has four points (2-2=4) in his last four games since being moved to left wing on a line that includes center Steve Kelly and right wing Pavel Rosa.

Giuliano, one of only two players (Rosa is the other) to appear in every game this season, had 10 points (3-7=10) in his first 42 games.

Rosa's power play goal against the Wolf Pack on Saturday gave him 47 career goals as a Monarch. Only former left wing Eric Healey (66) has more career goals than Rosa, who moved past former left wing Derek Bekar (46) into second place on the all-time list.

The power play goal was Rosa's 15th as a Monarch, moving him into second place behind only Healey (20) on that all-time list.

With two assists against the Providence Bruins on Friday, Rosa also moved into second place on the Monarchs all-time assist list. His 66 total helpers trail only teammate Kelly (97).

Defenseman Joe Rullier moved past injured defenseman Richard Seeley into first place on the Monarchs all-time games played list against the Wolf Pack on Sunday. Rullier has appeared in 169 regular season games for the Monarchs over the last three seasons.

Center Michael Cammalleri is the first Monarch to collect game-winning goals in consecutive games since right wing Scott Barney accomplished the task on Nov. 1 and Nov. 2 with game-winners against the Lowell Lock Monsters and the Norfolk Admirals. Cammalleri was credited with the game-winning goal against the Portland Pirates on Jan. 17 and the Providence Bruins on Friday.

Three of Cammalleri's seven total goals this season have been game-winners. Barney, currently on recall with the Los Angeles Kings, leads the Monarchs with four game-winners.

Goaltender Mathieu Chouinard extended his personal shutout streak to 149 minutes and 44 seconds by blanking the Hartford Wolf Pack, 2-0, on Saturday. Chouinard's streak, which started in the second period of the Monarchs 3-1 win over the Lock Monsters on Jan. 10, is the second longest of the season. Goaltender Adam Hauser had a personal shutout streak of 160 minutes and 38 seconds that lasted from Oct. 26 through Nov. 7.

Former netminder Travis Scott holds the longest shutout streak in team history. He went 219 minutes and 37 seconds without allowing a goal from Dec. 15 through Dec. 29, 2001.

Chouinard's win at Hartford was just his second win on the road this season. His only other road win came against the Lock Monsters (6-3 W) on Oct. 24.

Chouinard has collected three of his five career AHL shutouts this season. Two of his three shutouts have come against the Wolf Pack. In 44 career appearances in the AHL, Chouinard has a 20-15-1 record, five shutouts, a 2.34 goals-against-average and a .904 save-percentage.

The Monarchs have six shutouts this season, one better than their total for all of last season. The 2001-02 Monarchs recorded a team record seven shutouts.

The Monarchs recent three-game winning streak (Jan. 17 through Jan. 24) matched the longest for the team this season. The Monarchs also won three in a row from Nov. 8 through Nov. 14 and from Oct. 26 through Nov. 2.

The Monarchs equaled a season high by allowing four goals in one period (the second) to the Wolf Pack on Sunday. Prior to Sunday, the Monarchs last allowed four goals in one period (the first) to the Utah Grizzlies (6-0 L) on Dec. 19.

The Monarchs equaled a season low with three shots against the Wolf Pack in the third period of Sunday's game.

The Monarchs tied a season low by allowing the Bruins just three first period shots on Friday.

The Monarchs 2-0 shutout win over the Wolf Pack on Saturday marked their first road shutout since Oct. 26 against the Bruins. Goaltender Adam Hauser had 27 saves in the win.

The Monarchs have gone five straight road games without allowing a power play goal. They last gave up a power play goal on the road in their 5-1 loss to the Lock Monsters on Dec. 30. They are a perfect 14-for-14 on the kill in the five contests.

The Monarchs have killed off 17 straight opponent power plays overall. The streak dates back six games to Jan. 11 against the Wolf Pack.

The Monarchs have scored first in six of their seven road wins this season. They are 6-0-0-1 in road games in which they netted the first goal this season.
