St. Cloud Rox News Release
Willmar, MN--- Playing in Willmar for the final time this season, the Rox came up on the wrong end of a 3-0 game as they lost their 3rd game at Bill Taunton Stadium this season.
With Dominick Carlini (SE Louisiana) on the mound, the Rox weren't able to muster up any offense to help their lefty. Carlini pitched well on the mound, going 6 strong innings allowing 11 hits, 2 runs while striking out 8.
Marcus Carson (Kentucky) was a bright spot for the Rox, as he had two of the teams three hits in the loss.
John Sansone (Florida St.) continued his tear at the plate, ripping a 1-out double deep to center in the top of the 9th inning, but the Rox were unable to bring him across after he reached third on an error by the Willmar second basemen.
The Rox return home tomorrow night for a doubleheader at Joe Faber Field starting at 5:05 PM. Game number one is 2nd Annual Guns & Hoses Night presented by Firehouse Subs. A night to recognize our local Police & Firefighters. Special jersey auction to benefit the Public Safety Foundation. Coborn's Kids' Day. Kids can run the bases and get autographs on the field after the game. Game number two is a makeup game from July 15th.
Tonight's SC Times Player of the Game was Marcus Carson. Carson finished the game 2-4 for St. Cloud. For more Rox coverage, visit www.SCtimes.com
