
Rafters Bounce Back in 9-4 Win against the Bombers

Battle Creek, Mich.- The Rafters got back to their winning ways as they collected their 27th win of the summer tonight against the Battle Creek Bombers. The 2015 Northwoods League All-Star Jack Riley (UConn) picked up the win, while Scott Sency (Saginaw Valley State) took the loss in his first Northwoods League start. With the win the Rafters improve to 12-16 in the 2nd half, 27-33 overall. With the loss the Bombers fall to 12-18 in the 2nd half and 25-40 overall.
The Rafters Jack Riley (UConn) picked up his 6th win if the summer tonight in Battle Creek. The lefty went six innings and allowed seven hits, while striking out five. Mitchell McGeein (Eastern Michigan) blasted his 9th home run of the summer tonight in the 9-4 win. Zack Domingues (Long Beach State) had a three hit game and scored three runs. All-Star Brock Carpenter (Seattle) also had a multi-hit game with 2 RBI's. Ernie Clement (Virginia) scored twice while getting on base four times in five plate appearances. Austin Paisar (Sacramento City) threw two scoreless innings in relief, and James Davitt (Bryant) recorded the last three outs in the 9th. The Rafters had fourteen hits as a team, while capitalizing on four Battle Creek errors.
