Kalamazoo, MI- On a ninth inning wild pitch, the Bullfrogs (37-28) comeback effort fell short against the Growlers (15-50) as the first of four in a row on the road ended in a 4-3 defeat.

Making his first start, Clayton Uselman (LHP/Madison College) allowed eight hits in five innings, but limited the offensive output to just three earned runs to the Growlers, short stocked offensively at this juncture of the season.

Kalamazoo scored the first three runs of the game. They scored first in the second inning on an RBI single by former Bullfrog, John Soteropulos (California). The Growlers tacked on another with an RBI double from Corey Dempster (USC). And the third run was scored on a wild pitch that plated Marquise Gill (Eastern Michigan).

Down 3-0 after four innings, the Bullfrogs climbed back with three of their own. In the fifth, Danny Rosenbaum's (Louisville) single scored Robb Paller (Columbia) and Paller scored again on a Paul Jacobson (South Dakota State) sacrifice fly in the seventh inning.

After Matt De La Rosa (Lenoir Rhyne) led off the eighth with a single, he stole second (15th SB) and scored on a throwing error past first by shortstop Angelo Armenta (USC).

The Bullfrogs stole two bases in the game, now just 26 stolen bases (166) removed from tying the record for team stolen bases in a Northwoods League season that stands at 192.

After Parker Hamilton (Florida Gulf Coast) tossed two scoreless innings he allowed the lead off man, Bryce Adams (LSU), to single in the ninth. He was pulled in favor of Jeremy Graf (Flagler).

With pinch runner, Drew Farmer (Western Michigan), inserted for Adams, Graf walked back-to-back batters to load the bases. And with Angelo Armenta at the plate, Graf swung a pitch to the backstop scoring Farmer for the walk-off run.

Alex Kuisel (2-2) (Academy of Art) in 1 2/3IP scoreless picked up the win as Parker Hamilton (2-3) suffered the loss.

Robb Paller had his second game of the summer with four hits and Brian Celsi had a two hit game raising his season average to .358.

At Homer Stryker Field, the Growlers are now 2-1 against the Bullfrogs on the season, and the Bullfrogs dropped their record overall against Kalamazoo to 4-3.

Back at it tomorrow, the Bullfrogs look to snap a two-game losing skid in game two against Kalamazoo with a 4:05CST first pitch. Game coverage on WOCO 107.1FM starts at 3:55PM.

Austin Hancock (Lenoir Rhyne) will start for Green Bay Sunday. He last pitched on July 27th against Wisconsin Rapids and logged 6IP/3R(0ER)/6H/1K-2BB.
