
Rox Bring Magic Number to Five with 8-4 Win Over Larks

BISMARCK, ND - The St. Cloud Rox (38-23) claimed victory in game one of a two-game road series against the Bismarck Larks (23-39) with an 8-4 final score, Saturday, August 5th. The Rox hold one of the top records across the Northwoods League this season.
The starting pitcher for St. Cloud was Tyler Hemmesch. Hemmesch made his 4thstart and 7thappearance for St. Cloud, striking out two batters while giving up three earned runs for St. Cloud. The Minnesota Gopher commit has 24 strikeouts over 18.2 innings pitched this season.
Chipper Beck reached base three times, with two hits, a walk, two RBI, and two runs scored. Beck has batted .290 over his last 10 appearances, driving in eight runs over that span. Michael McNamara had a double, an RBI, and a run scored. McNamara has three doubles, a home run, and seven RBI over his last five games. Kyle Jackson reached base three times, with two hits and a walk. Jackson added on with a run scored, an RBI, and two stolen bases. Jackson leads the Rox in runs scored (40), ranks 2ndin stolen bases (16), and 2ndin RBI this season (35).
Ryan Chmielewski had another key multi-inning relief outing, throwing 4.0 scoreless innings against the Larks, striking out five batters. Since July 19th, Chmielewski has thrown 11.1 innings over four appearances, with a 0.79 ERA and 16 strikeouts to six walks. Jake Burcham worked 2.0 scoreless innings, striking out a batter in his team-leading 19thappearance.
