
Rox' Bats Come Alive Late to Earn Sweep Versus Loggers - Home Stand Continues Against Minot Tomorrow

ST. CLOUD, MN - The St. Cloud Rox (19-11) earned the sweep against the La Crosse Loggers (10-20) with a 3-2 final score, Thursday, June 29th. In the Great Plains West division, the Rox sit among the top teams in the division.
The starting pitcher for St. Cloud was Piercen McElyea. McElyea had another efficient outing for St. Cloud, going 6.0 innings, striking out four batters while giving up two earned runs. McElyea has a 1.59 ERA over 28.1 innings pitched this season, tallying 24 strikeouts.
Ben Vujovich was the hero in night two, with two RBI, plating St. Cloud's first run as well as the game-winning run on a single in the 8thinning. Vujovich has 10 RBI this season. Sawyer Smith had another quality day at the plate, leading off the 8thwith a single and coming around to score. He has three hits, two RBI and a run scored over his first two games. Kyle Jackson had a hit and a run scored, extending his hitting streak to four games.
Tommy Gross was the lone arm out of the bullpen. Gross went 3.0 innings pitched in his 5thappearance of the season, shutting out the Loggers with three strikeouts and earning his 3rdwin. Gross has been elite this season, throwing 13.2 shutout innings, tallying 15 strikeouts.

The Rox are back home tomorrow, Friday, June 30th, for the start of a two-game series against the Minot Hot Tots, with a 7:05 pm first pitch. It will be a Military Appreciation Night.
