ROUND ROCK, Texas - Following an April in which he reached base safely in 22 of 25 games, outfielder Joey Butler earned the Rangers Minor League Player of the Month honors.

Butler hit .341 (30-for-88) with six doubles, three home runs and 12 RBI over the month of April in which he played 25 games. The 15th round pick of the 2008 June draft hit safely in 20 games throughout the month, including three five-game hitting streaks before landing on the disabled list on May 1 with a hamstring injury.
