Colorado Springs, CO - The Colorado Springs Sky Sox (20-13) slugged 14 hits, including six for extra bases, in an 11-1 victory over the Iowa Cubs (12-20) at Security Service Field tonight. The Sky Sox win their third straight season series against the Cubs by taking three of four in the set.

Cubs' starter Brooks Raley (3-3) was charged with eight runs on 11 hits in four innings and suffered the loss, ending his streak of three straight winning decisions. The Sky Sox struck for five runs in the second, highlighted by a three-run homer by Matt McBride, and then tacked on three more in the fourth thanks to three straight doubles by DJ LeMahieu, Charlie Blackmon, and McBride.

Yoanner Negrin was a bright spot for the Cubs. He allowed just one unearned run on one hit in three innings of relief. He walked one and struck out five. The Sox scored their final two runs against Rafael Dolis in the eighth. Ben Paulsen drove in both with a triple to right. Paulsen finished with seven RBI in the series.

Sox starter Drew Pomeranz (5-0) worked into the seventh inning to earn the win. He was charged with the Cubs' only run, but it scored after he came out of the game. Darnell McDonald led off the inning with a double. After a strikeout, Pomeranz turned the ball over to Rob Scahill. Scahill threw a wild pitch, got a groundout, and gave up a two-out double to Logan Watkins that produced the run. Scahill worked 2.1 innings before the Sox brought in Brett Jacobson to get the final out.

The Cubs continue this road trip in Reno, Nevada tomorrow night with the first of four against the Aces, the Pacific Coast League affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks. RH Guillermo Moscoso (1-0, 3.00) will start for the Cubs against LH Tyler Skaggs (2-4, 6.89) for the Aces. The game starts at 8:35 Central time and will be broadcast live on AM 940 and streamed at iowacubs.com with the pre-game show starting at 8:15.
