August 6, 2010 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Calgary Roughnecks News Release

CALGARY- The Calgary Roughnecks have attained goalie Kurtis Wagar, forwards Keith Cromwell and Brian Spallina, and defender Rob Smith from the Orlando Titans dispersal draft. The Riggers did not remain completely silent in this morning's draft pick after trading their first round pick to the Philadelphia Wings for Geoff Snider.

"Wagar is an up and coming goaltender and we are pleased to have been able to get him in this draft," says Brad Banister, President and GM of the Calgary Roughnecks.

Wagar played 74 minutes for the Titans in the 2010 regular season, notching 42 saves. Wagar was originally selected by the Edmonton Rush as a third round pick (28th overall) of 2007 NLL Entry Draft. Wagar is spending his summer playing with the Brooklin Redmen in Ontario.

Veteran player Cromwell played eight seasons with the Philadelphia Wings before switching to different teams in the past three years. Cromwell last played with the New York Titans in 2009 when they went against the Riggers for the 2009 Champions Cup.

The Riggers used their last two chances to pick up Smith (37th overall) and Spallina (42nd overall).

Colorado grabbed the National Lacrosse League's 2010 Goaltender of the Year and 2010 NLL Most Valuable Player Matt Vinc. The Boston Blazers followed with second pick and took Orlando's Casey Powell.

Complete results from the draft can be found on www.nll.com or www.calgaryroughnecks.com . The Orlando Titans will be taking the 2011 season to restructure ownership in order to keep the team in the area.

Calgary Roughnecks 2011 seasons tickets are now on sale. Join the Riggers as they celebrate their 10th Anniversary! For more information call (403) 294-9244 or visit our website at www.calgaryroughnecks.com.
