Rochester Knighthawks News Release

(Rochester, NY)... One of the youngest stars of the National Lacrosse League is now a member of the Rochester Knighthawks. Owner and General Manager Curt Styres selected Jordan Hall today with the third overall pick in the NLL Dispersal Draft of Orlando Titans players. The Knighthawks also selected Dan Hardy, Kenny Nims, Michael Evans and Bobby Horsey in the five-round draft.

"He was No. 2 on Orlando in scoring last year. We need transition to create opportunities for our offense," said Styres about the 25-year-old Hall. "He brings transition and can play offense. He sees the floor very well and should create opportunities for our guys. The right side should get chances because he moves up the floor quickly."

Last season, the Surrey, BC, native was named a Second Team All-Pro and led all transition players in assists with 58, finishing fourth overall in the league in the category. His 74 points were tied for the 16th most in the league. In his career, the former first-overall pick has averaged nearly five points per game with 224 (65+159) in 47 games. Hall was named to the NLL All-Rookie Team in 2008. He has also represented his country, playing for Team Canada at the World lacrosse Championships, winning gold in 2006 and silver in 2010. He added additional hardware by capturing back-to-back MLL titles, winning the 2008 title with the Rochester Rattlers and the 2009 crown with the Toronto Nationals.

Rochester used its next two picks to take Syracuse University products. The first was Dan Hardy with the team's second pick (13th overall). The Tully, NY, native was a second-round pick of the Titans last season and dubbed by Inside Lacrosse Magazine as "perhaps the most NLL-ready player of any NLL prospect." The 23-year-old forward played at Syracuse University and earned national notoriety after assisting on the game-winning overtime goal to give the Orange the 2009 NCAA Men's Lacrosse National Championship. During his Syracuse career, he won back-to-back National Championships and was an USILA Honorable Mention All-American in 2007, 2008, and 2009.

With its third pick, Rochester drafted Kenny Nims with the 23rd overall selection. Nims and Hardy were teammates at Syracuse. Nims, 23, netted the game-tying goal in the final seconds of the 2009 NCAA Championship Game. The Watertown, NY, native registered 175 points, won back-to-back National Championships and was a 2009 First Team All-American in his four-year career at SU.

Rochester used its final two picks to take Michael Evans (Johns Hopkins) and NLL veteran Bobby Horsey. The 23-year-old Evans was a three-time All-American in college and the 2009 recipient of the William C. Schmeisser Award as the nation's top defenseman. The New York, NY, native was also a member of the Blue Jays' 2007 National Championship team. Horsey brings three seasons of NLL experience, having played in 38 pro games. The 31-year-old from West Chester, Pa., also collected 118 loose balls in his playing career. The transition man played his college ball at Loyola College.
