
Rookie Esner Signs Amateur Try-out Contract

Peoria, Ill. (March 14, 2007) - Peoria Rivermen General Manager of Hockey Operations Kevin McDonald announced today that rookie right wing Bryan Esner has been signed to an amateur try-out contract for the remainder of the season.
Esner, 23, recently completed a four-year NCAA Division I career with the Northeastern University (NU) Huskies, collecting 45 points (18g, 27a) in 131 career games. The 5-foot-8, 170-pound native of Paradise Valley, Arizona, notched a collegiate career-best eight (8) goals and 13 points during the 2006-07 campaign. He led the Huskies and finished tied for second in the country with four shorthanded goals, while finishing second all-time at NU with six shorthanded tallies.
On Wednesday, March 14, the Rivermen continue their season-long, seven-game road trip by visiting the Chicago Wolves for the second straight contest. Game time is 7:00 p.m. at Allstate Arena. On Friday, March 16, Peoria takes on the Milwaukee Admirals at 7:00 p.m. at the Bradley Center. And on Saturday, March 17, the Rivermen conclude their seven-game road swing in Omaha at 7:00 p.m. at the Omaha Civic Auditorium. On Sunday, March 18, the Rivermen return home to battle the Manitoba Moose at 4:00 p.m. It is an Insight Family Day with four (4) tickets, four (4) hot dogs, four (4) Cokes and four (4) bags of Kitchen Cooked chips for just $38 ($70 value).
