Amerks' Moose to participate in Painting of the Green

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans' mascot, The Moose, will be participating in the "Painting of the Green" event on Friday, March 16th, scheduled to take place at noon in front of the Clarion Riverside Hotel (120 Main St.). The St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee will be painting a green line across Main St. to represent the starting point of the parade set to take place on Saturday, March 17th. The event will also feature Irish dancing, music from bagpipes and drums, a leprechaun, and an appearance from St. Patrick himself.

The Rochester Americans hit the road tonight to travel to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to play the Penguins in the second game of the home-and-home series between the two teams. The 7:05 p.m. contest will be broadcast live on Hot Talk 1280 WHTK, whtk.com, and the B2 networks.

In its previous meeting on Sunday, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton managed to skate past Rochester to a 4-1 victory, handing the Amerks their fourth straight loss. The loss is also Rochester's eighth in its last nine games.

The Amerks return home to The Blue Cross Arena on Sunday, March 18th as they play host to the Houston Aeros. The game will be the first of two scheduled meetings between the two teams this season. Rochester will then travel to Houston on Friday, March 23rd to play the second the two. With a record of 22-32-3-6 (53 points) Houston currently sits in last place in the American Hockey League's West Division standings.
