Cassivi returns to Chocolatetown

HERSHEY - The 2006 Calder Cup Champion HERSHEY BEARS announced Wednesday in conjunction with the NHL's Washington Capitals that goaltender Frederic Cassivi has been assigned to HERSHEY. The announcement was made today by BEARS President/GM Doug Yingst and Washington VP/General Manager George McPhee.

Cassivi was recalled February 14 to Washington, and returns one month to the day from his departure from HERSHEY'S lineup. He appeared in four games for the Capitals, posting a 0-1-1 record with a goals against average of 2.59. His lone start for Washington came March 6 against the Toronto Maple Leafs at Air Canada Centre. With HERSHEY this season, Cassivi has a 15-7-4 record with a 2.55 goals against average. Cassivi is expected to be available when the BEARS travel to Worcester to face the Sharks Friday night at the DCU Center.

The BEARS return home this Saturday after a four-game road trip to face the Philadelphia Phantoms at 7:00 p.m. The game marks the beginning of a five-game homestand for HERSHEY. Following Saturday's game with Philadelphia, the Binghamton Senators will visit GIANT Center Sunday at 5:00 p.m. Tickets are available at the GIANT Center box office, or by calling (717) 534-3911.
