The Atlanta Thrashers have recalled center DEREK MacKENZIE from the Chicago Wolves.

The 25-year-old forward ranks seventh on the Wolves with 14 goals and a career-high 23 assists and 37 points in 52 games this season. He was held scoreless in four games with the Thrashers earlier this year before being returned to the Wolves.

Overall, MacKENZIE has dished out two assists in 28 career games with the Thrashers in parts of four seasons (2001-2002; 2003-2004; 2005-2006; 2006-2007).

The Sudbury, Ontario, native currently leads the American Hockey League with five short-handed tallies and holds the Wolves all-time record with 21 career shorties.

MacKENZIE ranks third all-time in Wolves history with 377 games played and is Chicago's active leader in goals (83), assists (101), points (184) and penalty minutes (441). He was a member of the Wolves 2002 Calder Cup Championship team.
