Rome Joins The Monarchs

MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, have agreed to terms on a one-year contract with defenseman Reagan Rome, Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough announced today. Per club policy, terms of the agreement were not announced. Rome, 23, appeared in 62 games with the ECHL's Reading Royals during the 2004-05 season and collected 21 points (2-19=21) and 140 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound native of Nesbitt, Manitoba, registered two penalty minutes in two games with the AHL's Cincinnati Mighty Ducks last season.

The Monarchs training camp begins on Monday, September 26, with the players reporting for physicals and equipment pick up. The players will hit the ice on Tuesday, September 27. The Monarchs intra-squad game at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Saturday, October 1 will be open to the public and free of charge. Doors will open at 10:30 a.m. and the game starts at 11 a.m.
