
Rome Braves Send Two Representatives

Rome, GA - The 2008 South Atlantic League All-Star teams have been announced and the Rome Braves will be sending two players to this year's event in Greensboro, NC.
Outfielder Jason Heyward and first baseman Freddie Freeman will represent the Braves on June 17th. Heyward has put together an outstanding first half of the season by hitting .332, with seven home runs, and 27 RBI. He is tied for the league lead in hits. Freeman has also enjoyed a productive first half hitting .307 with seven home runs, and 42 RBI (tied for 4th in the league). He is also tied for second with 19 doubles. The 49th annual All-Star game will be played at the home of the Greensboro Grasshoppers serving as the host club The Northern and Southern Division squads are comprised of 25 players with representatives from each team.
The Braves begin a four game road trip in Charleston tonight before returning home on Friday to begin a seven game home stand. For ticket information call the Rome Braves ticket office at 706-378-5144 or purchase tickets online at www.romebraves.com.
