Everett Silvertips News Release

EVERETT, Wash. - The Teddy Bears rained down on Angel of the Winds Arena ice, but it was the Seattle Thunderbirds raining on the Silvertips' parade with a 3-2 win Friday night.

Austin Roest opened the scoring at 3:48 in the second period with the Teddy Bear Toss goal, wiring a shot from the high slot in for his 19th goal of the season and commencing the Everett stuffed animal cavalcade.

Upon the resumption of play, Lucas Ciona capped off a two-on-one rush for the Thunderbirds to even up the score. Everett would grab back the lead with a powerplay tally, as Jackson Berezowski tipped a Ty Gibson shot for his 15th goal of the year and career goal number 97.

Seattle knotted the game at 3:16 in the third period, as Jared Davidson tucked a backhander in for his 13th goal of the year. Mekai Sanders would pot the game-winner at 13:13 in the third, rifling a one-timer home for his first goal of the season and first tally since March 12.

Scott Ratzlaff stopped 35 of 37 in the win for Seattle. Braden Holt stopped 38 of 41 in the loss.

Everett travels to Portland Sunday night to take on the Winterhawks, with live coverage beginning on KRKO Radio at 4:30 p.m. They return home Wednesday, Dec. 14 to host the Tri-City Americans. Tickets are available.
